I was invited to attend a very intimate wedding at the Mornington Rose Garden in Mornington Peninsula yesterday. It was a beautiful and cloudless weather for Alison and Bruce, the first day of Autumn but mercury rose to up to 38-39 degrees. Yes it was hot but the couple and their guests didn't let the hot weather spoil their day! A bagpiper filled the rose garden rotunda with the distinct horn sound for the bridal march. For their ceremony and I sang some classics such as "Can't help falling In Love," and " The First Time ever I saw your Face." We moved to the visitor centre for the reception and we were immediately offered ample drinks and refreshments. It was easy to get everyone to relax and participate and because it was a small wedding the bride and groom was able to chat and mingle, they really spent lots of time with their guests. Congratulations Alison and Bruce! Thank you for having me as your wedding singer! From Sharon Crossman

There are so many things that I love about my job as a wedding singer. I love that I get asked to sing on one of the most personal and important day of a couples lives. Knowing that I help couples enjoy their day gives me such a thrill! I also love that I get to see beautiful spaces and different venues each time I sing. For Sonia and Craig Spencer's wedding, they chose the Seaview Room of The Brighton Savoy Melbourne to celebrate. I must say what an amazing view of Brighton beach from the room on a balmy summer day!
The couple's guests were ushered into the lush outdoor foyer for the afternoon ceremony. The atmosphere was relaxed and marriage celebrant Kim Walsh made everyone feel at ease. The bride requested one of my favourite songs to sing, ''Kissing You" (by Des'ree) and I sang this during the signing of the registry. I also did my rendition of ''Love Someone" by Lukas Graham for their first dance as husband and wife. Most of their guests joined them and danced the night away. It's one of those Ed Sheeran songs you need at your wedding - Perfect swaying tempo for your first dance. Hello engaged couples, I have a new YouTube video! https://youtu.be/GfWtO1YMQ9A If you've chosen your wedding song and looking for a wedding singer to sing it live or if you need a bit of help finding the perfect song, get in touch and I would be happy to help out. Special thanks to my talented friend Jaz Manabat for making this video. Anna and Mark Bennett recently got married with a 100 of their nearest and dearest at the lush Yarra Ranges Estate Monbulk, in the Yarra Valley. I sang with the very talented band Jazz Notes and we enjoyed curating songs for their Filipino-Australian wedding. Anna told me “I had a picture in my mind, Mark and I want to give our guests a relaxing and elegant music experience.”
Before the ceremony, while guests waited for the beautiful bride to arrive, I sang ‘Over the rainbow,’ and ‘Can’t help falling in love.’ Jazz notes played ‘What a wonderful world’ and ‘How long will I love you’ for the recessional. Chilled easy listening music continued in canapes and dinner. I performed a mix of Jazz standards and contemporary love songs. We performed some classics such as ‘Fly me to the Moon,’ 'Let’s fall in love,' ‘Someone to watch over me,’ ‘Will you still love me tomorrow' and some pop songs ‘All of me’ and How long will I love you.’ We were thrilled to be able to do a live version of Al Green's ‘Let’s stay together' for the couple's first dance. I was told this song holds a special meaning to the couple. Thank you so much Anna and Mark for having me and Jazz Notes perform at your big day! If you've chosen your first dance track and are looking for a wedding singer to sing it live or if you need a bit of help finding the perfect song, get in touch and I would be happy to help out. |
