Here are some common questions I get asked about my wedding singing services. Please do not hesitate to contact me if your question is not herecontact me.
Where are you based and how far will you travel? I'm based in the Yarra Valley, but I am the ‘Melbourne Wedding Singer’ and I will travel within the Melbourne Metropolitan area, surrounding areas, and outside Melbourne on arrangement (travel expenses may apply). Get in touch, and I will see what I can do for you.
What time will you arrive, and how long do you need to set up? I arrive at the venue 1 hour before your guests arrive to set up music equipment and sound check. It only takes me 30 minutes to set up.
When do I pay? A deposit of AUD 100 is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due either by cash on the day or by bank transfer 5 days before my performance.
What do you need at the venue? A mains electrical plug near where I will be singing, and that’s it! If your event is outside, my sound system needs protection from rain and drizzle if the weather changes. Please provide 2 weighted umbrellas for my speakers. How much space do you need at the venue? I do not take up much space as you can see in this photo in a corner/by the church pillars.
Can you sing special requests or songs that are not included in your song list? Yes, as long as digital backing tracks are available for the song you want and we arrange it beforehand, I will learn new songs for you. If you choose a song outside of my song list, there is an additional charge of AUD 20 per song to cover the purchase of backing tracks (subject to availability) and for my preparation learning a new song.
How many songs do you sing in an hour? Approximately 8-10 songs. I usually sing 7-10 songs at the ceremony. Depending on the package you choose, I will sing another 10 songs (a music set) for the afternoon drinks reception and another 10-12 songs for your evening/mains reception.
What type of speakers do you use? I use a music industry sound equipment, a Yamaha stage pas 400I and 600I PA systems, which render my voice really well and produce high-quality sound in small and medium venues (100-300 guests).
Can we use your microphone for speeches or announcements? Yes, once I have set up, you are welcome to use my equipment.
Do you need to be provided with food if we book you for the reception? If it is a long day, may I please ask that you feed me, my pianist? and my assistant? Have you heard me sing hungry? Not good. Please check with your reception venue for 'crew meals.' Usually, they are charged at a reduced rate.
Do you only sing at weddings? I also sing at other events - birthdays, house parties, corporate events, graduation, even funerals - all these events can be arranged.
